Beautiful and peaceful location
At the very top by the edge of the fields, with windows and a veranda facing the morning sun and south, stands the small cottage with wide, open views. Wake up to morning mist drifting over the lake, step barefoot onto the veranda, or open the back door leading to the hillside with gently sloping pasture and fields, all the way down to the Viättsån stream, which has just emerged from untouched, secluded forest.
The setting is very quiet. There are no neighbours in winter, and during summer, when they are in the village, they are barely noticeable. Behind the cottage, a little farther into the property, stands an uninhabited old log house and a woodshed.
Good fishing waters and swimming
Down by Lake Dämstasjön there is a swimming area with a barbecue spot and a sauna. The swimming area is known for having warm water — not surprising given its sunny location.
There are also plenty of good fishing waters here. Already by Sjögarbron and the pier at the swimming area, you have a chance of catching fish. Not far away are Köpmantjärn and Stora Bergstjärn, where you can find Arctic char, trout, and rainbow trout.
Nature right outside the door
During parts of the summer, sheep graze just outside the cottage, and visits to them are included in your stay. Roe deer and moose are not uncommon, although they are easiest to spot in winter. During winter, you may also be visited by reindeer, most commonly in March and April.
On cold winter evenings and nights, guests renting the cottage may, with a bit of luck, see the northern lights.
Well-equipped cottage
The 36-square-metre holiday cottage is relatively well equipped. It has a small kitchen area for four, fridge and freezer, stove, microwave, coffee maker, and electric kettle. The main room features a centrally placed wood-burning stove, an armchair, and a sofa that easily converts into a bed (140 × 200 cm). There is also a small bedroom with two beds that can be placed together or separated. The bathroom has a composting toilet (Separett Villa), sink, and shower.
Price: SEK 600 per night. Firewood is included; electricity is charged separately.
Bed linen and towels can be rented for SEK 150 per person.
A boat, canoe, and a simple kayak are available to borrow.
